Challenge – Total Crash Control by Standardization
Problem: An IT placement agency wanted to reduce the downtime experienced by users when their computer malfunctioned. They also wanted to reduce the computer department's time associated with reinstalling or deploying new replacement workstations.
Solution: After researching viable alternatives, we developed a plan to standardize the hardware and software applications throughout the company. We created a "standard image" for each department based on their individual business requirements. We used a software tool to create these images that would allow a technician to initiate a total system install within a few short and simple steps.
Results: In events of serious hardware or software malfunction, employee downtime was reduced from approximately four hours, to thirty minutes.
